Chief Scoop Officer
(AKA Scoop Shop Manager)

Part-Time Seasonal Position: April – Mid-September 

About the Role -

​

True Scoops (formerly Super Scoops) is getting ready to scoop up smiles starting mid-April—and we need potentially TWO amazing Shop Managers to help lead the way!

​

This is a part-time seasonal role (about 20–25 hours per week) perfect for hospitality pros, teachers on summer break, retirees, or anyone who wants a fun, people-focused job for the summer months. You’ll be part of launching an exciting, newly rebranded neighborhood ice cream shop and helping make it a must-visit destination in Falmouth.

As one of our lead operations staff, you’ll be the friendly face of True Scoops—leading our team of scoopers, keeping the shop running smoothly, and making sure every customer leaves happier (and a little sweeter) than when they arrived. While the owner handles scheduling, ordering, payroll, and behind-the-scenes logistics, you’ll be on-site making the magic happen.

Shop Hours: 12pm–9pm daily during peak season (mid June-August). Off peak hours will vary.

What You’ll Do -

​

Daily Operations

  • Open and close the shop with confidence and consistency

  • Supervise scoopers and help them deliver top-notch service

  • Maintain high standards for food safety, cleanliness, and presentation

  • Keep the shop bright, organized, and welcoming all day long

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with vendors when needed

  • Keep an eye on inventory and communicate restocking needs

Team leadership

  • Lead and inspire a team of mostly young, first-time employees

  • Coach and train scoopers so they grow in confidence and skills

  • Address issues professionally while keeping morale high

  • Ensure procedures and safety protocols are followed

  • Build a fun, positive workplace where people love coming to work

Customer experience 

  • Create a warm, friendly vibe for every guest

  • Handle customer questions or concerns with kindness and professionalism

  • Build relationships with regulars and make newcomers feel at home

  • Keep service smooth and upbeat—even during the busiest rushes

  • Be a proud ambassador for True Scoops in the community

Collaboration & Communication 

  • Partner closely with your co-manager to keep operations seamless

  • Make smart, real-time decisions throughout each shift

  • Share updates, ideas, and challenges with ownership

  • Look for ways to improve workflows and the overall guest experience

  • Stay calm, cool, and collected when things get busy

  • Help run social media and brand marketing strategies

Requirements - 

​

  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience (food service, retail, or hospitality)

  • Strong people skills and a natural ability to lead

  • A positive, customer-first mindset

  • Problem-solving skills and good judgment

  • Ability to be on your feet and handle the physical demands of the job

  • Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently

  • Availability from early April through mid-September

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays 

  • Food handler certification (or willingness to get one)

  • A collaborative spirit—you’ll be potentially sharing the role with another manager

Position Details-

  • Hours: Part-time, 20–25 hours/week

  • Operating Hours: 12pm–9pm daily (peak season) or varying off peak hours

  • Schedule: Flexible and created collaboratively with other co-manager(s)

  • Start Date: Early April for training and pre-opening setup

  • Location: True Scoops – 178 US Route One, Falmouth, Maine
